How does the work you’re doing with Arbios align with your values or passions?
I believe that working in industry does not have to be destructive to our natural environment. Most of our natural resources are logged, mined, and extracted from the lands – all not without impact. At Arbios we are taking residuals – products that most people would determine to be waste – and turning them into valuable eco-product. This aligns with my own values because I, personally, think that we should be trying to conserve the planet in whatever way we possibly can.
Why is environmental sustainability a priority in your professional life?
“Sustainability” is a buzzword in industry lately where measurement of what companies are doing is translating into smaller scale environmental improvements such as using less water, recycling, and using eco-friendly products. This is taking a non-sustainable approach and modifying how business is run to fit the mold. The entire premise of Arbios is to be built around an entirely sustainable model and be a leader in industry. To be able to run a company without having the negative environmental impact is incredibly important as we have seen measurable impacts in the last few decades- such as global warming. Professional responsibility now includes doing the right thing for the environment, so we can leave the planet in a healthy state for future generations.
How would you describe the Arbios culture to someone considering joining our team?
The culture at Arbios is one of supportive diverse collaboration. We have a team that has come together from all different industries and walks of life who are working together to leverage their individual knowledge and build something great. People here work together and support each other all while having a light, fun, and overall positive experience. Our team is a group of people whose values align, as we all work towards the same end goal. This was apparent to myself early in the interview process and made me excited and hopeful to become part of the team. I am appreciative to be able to work with such a great group of people.
